Before we go any further, I should clarify that the term “cat lady” is pretty much the highest form of compliment here at the design*sponge office. And we are all huge fans of Leah Goren. I’ve been coveting her for much too long and proudly sport her instead of an actual handbag. So I was excited to see that Leah is turning her illustration and pattern talents to ceramics. Leah started making ceramics with her mom last December while back in California for the holidays. Her mother has a kiln and taught Leah how to make simple stoneware pots. Leah so enjoyed seeing her illustrations translated into a new (and long-lasting form) that when she was back in New York, she started taking classes. Most of her pieces are hand-formed with white stoneware and decorated with colored slips on the wet clay or with glazes on the bisque. You can see all of Leah’s ceramics work on her blog, . The pieces are for sale in her . (We also recently peeked into Leah’s Brooklyn home, check it out here.) –Amy
