I love going through our old DIY projects. DIY used to be such a huge part of what we did here at Design*Sponge. But over the past 4-5 years we noticed that people didn’t seem as interested in projects, or were expecting more high-end/large-scale work that our budget didn’t allow for. So while I miss the days of us hand-making something every week, I am so grateful that we had that era at all — and got to learn so much and make the most of a wide range of materials and different skill levels.
This project stands out in my memory because it was part of a time when good-old-fashioned puffy paint (yes, children of the 90s!) really made a comeback. So many great crafters ( comes to mind) were coming up with clever ways to use these raised paints that would adhere to just about anything, and this project that Katie Steuernagle shared with us is a fun example. Inspired by , these simple and inexpensive DIY versions use old spaghetti jars! I hope they’ll inspire you to get crafting this week. xo, Grace
