One of the things Kristina and I always talk about is the trend we’ve seen since Day 1 of the Design*Sponge food column: people tend to like super comforting OR super healthy food. Recipes that fall in-between rarely take off in the same way as the ones that feel like they fall at either end of the decadent vs. healthy spectrum. But I have a hunch that today’s #12 spot on the Top Recipes of All Time list managed to combine those two concepts in a way that made it a huge hit.
Amy Le’s Vegan No-Bake Chocolate Tart has all the chocolatey richness that we crave in a dessert but also subs in some healthy ingredients like cashews, almond meal, and dates for more traditional tart ingredients. The result is a luscious treat that was shared widely online and seems to have become an instant hit with my fellow chocolate-lovers. Here’s to weekend chocolate treats! xo, Grace
